I was attracted to the simple look to the flower, petals would be open in few days. To help it stand out, I lowered myself to keep the distance in the far in the background. Giving it soft green colour in the background to help the flower stand out.

I found it quite interesting all these colours surrounding these rare snails. Living in middle of the Canadian Rockies, warmth of the water and the minerals providing what need to call these springs along Sulphur Mtn their home.

I was on my way to work when I looked over toward a pond close to path I was taking. Several geese were quietly going about their business. I slowly moved toward them and squatted to take few images of the birds. With no wind and taking the picture low to the ground, gave the geese a look as if they were stuck in frozen water.

A bird often heard and not seen. I had been taking pictures of other birds, but kept hearing the call of Sora. I was ready to go home when I heard the call again and saw some grass move. I had to wait a while, as my arms started to get tired from holding the camera and the lens. But well worth it when I was able to get the picture.

One of he first flower that adds bright colour to the forest floor. Most often they are found in a group, but this was on its own. I liked the softness of the flower surounded by the hardness of the rock and the barbed dead branch.

Most of photography deals with nature, but there are few building I do take pictures of. Places where I work. are building that play an important role in my work with Parks. I see these building in so many differnet lights, each giving a different look to the building. This one was taken early morning.

Few years back I started emailing few people I worked with a picture and few words to go with it. A project to get me outside to take pictures on a regular basis. It started as a small list and expanded from there and few months later I started a list outside of work as well.
Now I'm starting a blog. Time will tell where it will lead me.
