For few weeks now these two black bear cubs have been out of the safety that was provided by the den with their mother. They are born with little fur, weighing under a pound each. Once born, the mother goes into lighter sleep, responding to the needs of her cubs when they are awake. To provide enough milk for her babies, the mother can lose about half a pound a day to convert her body stores to feed her cubs. Once out of the den the challenges increase, but the mother is never far away, always there to look after her cubs until the day arrives when they are ready to face the world on their own.
Until next moment,
