Often I have seen Sharp-shinned Hawks do a quick fly by. Not even having the time to point the camera, let along take a picture of them. In case of this one, I was walking through a mixture of open grass and forested area. Saw a bird go down into the tall grass, it was a Sharp-shinned Hawk. As I was deciding how to get near for a picture, it flew up and perched itself on top of a small dead tree. It gave me the seconds I needed to take few pictures, I took full advantage of it.
