All type of photography has its challenges and there are many with wildlife. The number one is having no control what the wild creatures are going to do when I point my camera at them or when I'm about to take their picture. Let's take this Spruce Grouses for an example, I have been coming across them for years. But trying to get them in the right light, standing out in the clear has been full of entertaining but futile attempts. But all that changed this year, not once but twice. The last time was when I was wondering through coniferous forest, I came across three females and this male who got on top of a very old fallen tree. With the right amount of light and a pleasing background, I quickly put myself in the right position and grabbed several images before it moved away.
