After taking the pictures of the sunrise, I started looking at the Lesser Scaup with its eight chicks. They were about 70 meters away from me, I would take a picture or two and then wait for them to get closer. Sat back and enjoyed the views as I waited, the water fowls took their time makig their way toward me. Diving often to look for food, but after a short wait they got close enough for me to take few good pictures.

Was out watching the sun come up and light up Crowfoot Mountain. Normally the focus is on the glacier, I decided this time to feature the mountain.

Well, I popped over to the vermilion lakes during the night to take pictures. The water was calm and the sky full of clouds. The northern lights try to make appearance but quickly pulled back, perhaps another night.

Oh how they grow up, never got to see the cubs in the year they came out of their den, came close. But since then our paths have crossed few times, the last time was few weeks back. The cubs are two year old and are getting close to their mom size. They were doing their rounds, eating and traveling, here the mother is in the front while behind her are the three cubs eating buffalo berries, the berry shrub never had a chance.

I was not able to get the whole sheep in the picture with the lens I had on my camera. So started working on a composition that would give me a decent picture. Did not have much time, as they were about to move away from me. Did not think I had the picture I was looking for, but changed my mind once I saw it on the monitor.

I was making my way to the car after taking pictures of the sunrise. Looked out onto the lake and saw 10 geese on the water. Made a quick move to get ahead and pulled out my camera, made some quick adjustments to get the details in the shadow and took the picture.

For me photography is about telling a story. Sometime that happens quickly, other times I have to wait for all the parts to come together before the story can be told. For this picture I waited until the Great Grey Owl heard a vole moving through the grass, it took to the sky and just before heading toward the ground, I grabbed the picture.

Every summer I have to take at least few picture of this beautiful flower, fireweed. In many places the flowers are on the their last few days, so I made my way into Kootenay NP and locate these flowers on the valley floor. The wind was an issue, but between gusts I got few keepers.

I was visiting Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park, the second highest waterfall in Western Canada. Always find it difficult getting a good picture of it, I never give up. Had to move back as the wind kept blowing the mist toward me. In the end that gave me the picture I wanted.

Came across a nice little surprise few weeks back. A beautiful small cinnamon black bear, and just behind her two little cubs of the same colour. It was difficult getting pictures of all three at the same time, those darn trees kept getting in the way. So I started to focusing on them one at a time. This cub took its time following in the back, giving me the opportunity to grab few pictures before it disappeared into the forest.

If you go out to the woods tonight, keeps your eyes open for the shadows that move. It may not be a shadow but a black bear eating berries. . In this case a small black bear eating dogwood berries.

Oooooh, sometimes its hard working with wildlife. The light was coming from the right direction, from behind me. The nest was in clear sight and the one adult with the three juveniles were visible as well. The osprey family and I were now waiting for the other adult to bring home the fish. After a short wait the fish was on its way, quickly I got ready, I only had few seconds to get the picture I wanted. I took the pictures just before the adult with the fish landed in the nest, but when I looked at the picture on the computer, I noticed the fish was in the wrong talon. Back to the drawing board.

I have taken many pictures of Boreal Chickadees so I was looking for something different. In this case the soft green background while the bird perched on the dead branch of willow was it.

There never seems to be enough time to take all the pictures of the flowers I want each summer. But few weeks ago the time was on my side as I was not far from the road taking pictures of the brown-eyed susan flowers. It was great way to spend small amount of time on a sunny afternoon.

I seem to always have hard time reaching my final destination anytime I'm on the trail or on the road in the mountains, there's always something along the way to grab my attention. I was on my favourite road 93 North, looking at the beautiful sky. Still couple of hours before sunset, the light looked great on the mountains. Was coming to a spot where there was small pool of water, I told my self if the water was anywhere close to still, I was going to stop, walk over and take a picture. Well, it was that easy. Water was still enough, the light was great and I got my picture with the Observation Peak in the background.

It was the night the Northern Lights might have put on a show. Much of the sky was open the water was still, but the lights had other plans that night. That was okay, there were enough elements to make an image.

Not a bad way to start the day of photography, clouds started to fill the sky and the water was still. Quickly made my way to the water to take the pictures before the mosquitoes did a number on me.

This one year old wolf looked away for a second, before continuing to locate the vole it was listening to nearby. It did not take long to fine tune the vole's location and after two quick short jumps, it had the vole in its teeth. It looked away to munch on the snack, nonetheless I was happy with the picture before the catch.
